Abstract
The present work deals with optimization of tungsten inert gas welding process on Duplex Stainless Steel (2205). The present investigation is to find out the best influence of welding current, welding speed, welding position and filler material on mechanical properties. Taguchi L9 orthogonal array method was employed to optimize the welding process parameters for improvement of mechanical properties of weld bead such as tensile strength, hardness and toughness. Four variable welding parameters and their three levels were selected and design of experiments was implemented as per Taguchi L9 array approach.
